Young Lee
Pastor
Young Lee, our Lead Pastor, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and went on to earn his MDiv and Doctor of Ministry at Biblical Seminary. Before moving to the DC area in 2009, he served for 13 years at Renewal Church in Philadelphia (formerly Emmanuel). He also served as a Justice Advocate with International Justice Mission (IJM). Outside of ministry, Young’s greatest passion is the Philadelphia Eagles.
Michele earned her master’s from Columbia University and her PhD in counseling psychology from NYU in 2009. She has worked in various settings, including an eating disorder clinic, a nonprofit serving immigrants and refugees, and the University of Pennsylvania’s counseling center. After 10 years at IJM, where she served as Global Vice President of Justice Solutions, she now works at the Veterans Affairs hospital. She also serves on the boards of Compassion International and Redeem International, a Christian nonprofit that advocates for widows and orphans in Uganda.
Young and Michele met on a short-term mission trip to Oaxaca, Mexico. They have three wonderful boys: twins Jacob and Thomas, and their youngest, Ezra.
