Marissa graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS in Biological Sciences where she was also a volunteer Young Life leader, working with middle school students. After graduation, she traveled to China with Young Life International as a university teacher, ministering to college students. Altogether, Marissa has eight years of youth ministry experience through Young Life. After coming back to the States, she worked at the University of Valley Forge, where she was also a master’s student in Christian Leadership taking classes like Biblical Exegesis, Christian Ethics, and Apologetics. There she met her husband, Devante, with whom she enjoys exploring new foods, going to the beach, and spending time with friends and family. Marissa is passionate about caring for youth students, learning about new cultures, and facilitating connections within her community.
