Young Lee

Pastor of Community Care

Young Lee, pastor of community care, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and afterward attended Biblical Seminary for his MDiv and Doctor of Ministry. Prior to moving to the metro DC area, Young served at Renewal Church in Philadelphia (formerly known also as Emmanuel) for 13 years. He has been involved with overseas missions, justice partnerships, administration, counseling, and mercy ministries. He has also been serving as a Justice Advocate for International Justice Mission (IJM). Next to ministry, Young's greatest passions are Philly sports, discovering new indie bands, and anything Apple/tech related.

After receiving her Masters from Columbia University, Michele completed her PhD in counseling psychology from NYU in 2009. She has worked in various contexts such as an eating disorder clinic, a non-profit focused on immigrants/refugees, and at the counseling center of UPenn. Currently, she works at IJM as the Global Vice President of Justice Solutions. Michele's ability to make anyone laugh and feel at ease has been a blessing to many.

Young and Michele met in Oaxaca, Mexico while on a short-term mission trip. Together they have three incredibly beautiful boys: Twin boys, Jacob and Thomas, and the youngest, Ezra.
